1. What is your favorite Bill Murray movie?
Stripes. “Army training, sir!!!”
2. Who is your favorite director?
Well as we are in the scope of conversation, Wes Anderson.
3. What is your favorite movie soundtrack?
“Saturday Night Fever”
Honorable Mention:
“Masked and Anonymous” Starring Bob Dylan and a great set of Dylan cover tunes – seriously go seek it out.
4. What do you consider a perfect movie?
Tough to winnow this down. Candidates, “Lawrence of Arabia”(so visually stunning), “The Sting” (visually stunning, great soundtrack and a great surprise ending.) and “Casablanca”
I am going with Casablanca as it was a very seat of the pants production with the screenplay being written on the fly and pages handed to the actors and directors seconds before each scene was to be filmed.
5. What is a popular movie that you just don’t understand its popularity?
Most horror movies. I don’t find getting scared and jumping out of my seat to be entertaining. I am in the minority, I am sure.

1. I’ve never seen his as much more than a cameo player who plays himself. In that vein, he’s never been better cast than in “Lost in Translation.”
2. Off the top of my head. . . .Krzysztof Kie?lowski. A true master with a broad skill set. He died not long after he finished his magnum opus, the Three Colors trilogy. A true legend.
3. I can think of three right off the bat. Each captures a moment in time in America–American Grafitti, Pretty in Pink, and Clueless.
4. The Merchant / Ivory film “A Room with A View,” has nearly perfect continuity, which is quite a feat considering it was made in the mid 1980’s without any technology to help. I was also stunned by Kie?lowski’s “Red,” which tied up the three films so beautifully and unexpectedly.
5. I’m proud of the many commercially successful movies that I have *never* seen. Tops among them, Titanic, Frozen and Black Panther,
1) Caddyshack. It’s in the hole!
2) Guillermo Del Toro is the first one that bp came to mind.
3) Varying songs, “Almost Famous” , instrumental, “Last of the Mohicans”
4) The Princess Bride. Laughter, sword fighting, discovery of friendships, love. It has almost everything. Only thing missing is some nudity.
5) My Big Fat Greek Wedding. Just absolute garbage.
