  1. seconds after this photo was taken, Gerald’s chin strap broke loose, lacerating and beheading the photographer. In honor of Pearl Harbor, I am told the photog was a ‘dirty jap’ anyway.

  2. With the English snythpop sound and lyrics of Erasure buzzing through his mind (“Blue boy go get your gun, hands together, we can have some fun!”), Royal Australian Mountie Jim “Jake” Japp felt a confident surge in his groin. At the time of this photo, he was thinking about the Cross-Cultural Royal Canadian & Royal Australian Mounted Police Officer Swap & Flag Party he planned to attend. The overpowering surge caused his right arm to twitch and bend slightly (see photo), as his hand clenched the tip of his affectionately named “Mr. Fistie” billy club that hung from his hip, always ready for action. The thought of meeting Royal Canadian Mounties with billy clubs that were, so legend has it, even bigger than Royal Australian Mountie billy clubs–he had already decided to compare sizes at the party–caused his surge of confidence to, as it were, harden its resolve. If called to duty at the party, he would easily rise to the challenge with his impressive confidence and billy club, he knew, hopefully breaking some Canadian heads, and if he was lucky, even blowing one or two of them away. His confidence was so resolved that, in fact, he felt sure that he was hard enough to crack walnuts. And if there was anything Royal Australian Mountie Jim “Jake” Japp liked to do, that was crack a hard walnut or two with his beloved “Mr. Fistie.”
