{"id":198,"date":"2003-06-17T10:13:01","date_gmt":"2003-06-17T14:13:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.majikwah.com\/?p=198"},"modified":"2010-07-03T14:25:08","modified_gmt":"2010-07-03T21:25:08","slug":"105586638167187457","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.majikwah.com\/?p=198","title":{"rendered":"Reading With Colors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I was cruising around on Google the other day and I found a relic from my past that I had been looking for for a long time.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/perso.wanadoo.fr\/une.education.pour.demain\/lectureenc\/wcprese.htm\">Words in Color <\/a>was a reading program that our school district in Moffat County, Colorado used for a years and years to teach reading to the elementary school children. A few months or so ago, I was talking to my sister and another childhood friend about <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cuisenaire.co.uk\/literacy\/wicintro.htm\">this wacky program<\/a> of <a href=\"http:\/\/assoc.wanadoo.fr\/une.education.pour.demain\/lectureenc\/wincharts\/engmot3.htm\">posters <\/a>and phonics and <a href=\"http:\/\/assoc.wanadoo.fr\/une.education.pour.demain\/lectureenc\/wincharts\/engfidel.htm\">colorized letters <\/a>and how we all felt it gave us good reading and comprehension skills.<br \/>\nAnd apparently it does. There are <a href=\"http:\/\/assoc.wanadoo.fr\/une.education.pour.demain\/lectureenc\/wcprese.htm\">case studies of the program<\/a> and it is stil quite popular in England, France and Japan as part of an early reading education program.<br \/>\nAnd for just $55.00 I can get <a href=\"http:\/\/members.aol.com\/edusol99\/silent_way_catalog.htm\">a set of the posters,<\/a> so perhaps a purchase and some wall decorating is in my future.<!--bd065d5a8e7fcebc0fe330080ccd4381--><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I was cruising around on Google the other day and I found a relic from my past that I had been looking for for a long time.
