1. What is the best board game?
Risk is the bomb. Although I have seen it make friends seethe.
2. What is the best card game?
We have this card game that we play at family gatherings that we call 9 Card (I don’t know if that is its official name) it is a modified trick taking game that is quite addictive and can accommodate many players (we had about 12 folks playing together one Thanksgiving !)
3. What is the best video game?
I an not much of a gamer but back in the day as a teenager working at Safeway we would stay after the store closed and play Atari’s “Tempest” for hours. And also as a teen, I had a friend who’s family owned a laundromat and we would usually go there after a high school football or basketball game and play “Galaga” for hours on end.
4. What is the best word game
Scrabble. I was going to use this for answer number one as the best board game but I think it is more aptly listed here.
5. What is your earliest memory of playing a game?
Well the questions have no qualifiers so I am going to go hide and seek and grandmas house with my sister and cousins using our new clown flashlights that we all got in our Christmas stockings.

1) It’s a toss up between Monopoly and Life. Monopoly can get a bit laborious and Life is a bit simplistic with not much strategy, but both are equally fun.
2) I have to say UNO. In its many forms it can be fun with kids, with adults and without either of them.
3) I am an OG video gamer, so I could go back to some classics like Space Invaders and such. But since XBOx was invented all the edition of Halo are my jam. Shoot aliens, kill aliens, save the world, repeat.
4) Boggle by a mile. Not even a toss up. Any level can play this and the playing field is pretty level. I play with my college professor sister and her professor husband and I win as many as I lose.
5) We were a game family growing up, so probably 6 or so is when games really became fun and I wasn’t just moving piece around the board.
Lets ruminate on “new clown flashlights” for a moment. Were these new as in *replacement* clown flashlights? “Those kids go through clown flashlights like I used to go through shoe leather.”
Or did they possibly feature a different clown than prior iterations? “It ain’t Christmas ’round these parts till those damn kids get this year’s clown flashlights.”
1) I like trivial pursuit.
2) I enjoy hearts. It’s not to complex yet has a minimal amount of thought.
3) Stand ip arcade style Im a huge Mat Mania fan its an all star wrestling style game. But on a console i realy enjoy long first person shooter type games with a story so I can play alone and not get powned by some 13 year old kid.
4) Big fan of Balderdash.
5) Playing skit skat. A card game around the table at our grandmothers cottage in Canada. Must have been around 8 or. 9.
