The Friday Fives

1. What’s your favorite candle scent?

Vanilla Cream. But over at BANDEDmasculine.com there are cereal milk scented candles and I think I am going to need some of that.

2. Do you have an artistic or crafty hobby? What is it?

I really enjoy baking bread and no-knead sourdough bread is my jam! I also like to make jam but that Is a lot of work.

3. What’s one weird way you save money on food?

My answer is more of the opposite. I have adopted my friend Kat’s method of ordering take or to-go boxes from restaurants, then storing the leftovers in the fridge and throwing them away two weeks later.

4. Do you collect anything weird or unusual?

Aside from the all too familiar North Korean porn, no. Not officially but I have way too many Bluetooth headphones and earbuds.

5. Do you fear the deep ocean, or does its unknown depths excite you?

It excites me. I have very fond memories of my youth watching “The Undersea Adventures of Jacques Costea. I spent many hours imagining myself aboard “The Calypso.”

  1. 1. I do like a nice spring time or sea breeze candle made from a soy wax.

    2) As I age, I am becoming more handy, both in fixing or upgrading home stuff. Also, I do jewelry metal stamping and stuff, once in a while. So if you get a dog tag that says, “You Rock, Superstar!” I might of made it.

3 – I am the cook in our family, so I find making stuff from scratch ends up better tasting, healthier and also less expensive. You buy ingredients in larger quantities and then use as you go. Example – A can of Campbell’s condensed cream of mushroom soup costs around $1.50. With a cup of flour, a cup of milk, some butter and fresh mushrooms, I can make it homemade. Total cost works out to be .75 cents. Boom!

4: Collect? Not really. I have lots of stuff and really work at purging unused stuff as my hobby. Clean up and simplify.

    5) Hmm, I have experienced 100 foot depths while recreationally scuba diving. And it is fine. But I did dive down the black hole in Guam, 100 feet through a coral reef and came out a cliff wall 100 feet down from the top of the water and a few miles from the bottom of the Marianas Trench. It was pitch black and the only way I knew which way was up was the air bubbles and nothing else could be seen except the cliff wall when I was a within a foot of it. There was a bit of awe and fear as the enormity and vastness of our oceans.

  2. 1) Cinnamon apple.

    2) I d not have any crafty or artistic hobbies.

    3) I am in the works of getting a plan together to meal prep. Thus cutting costs and aiding in my transition to non husky kid.

    4) I have a shoebox full of various stickers. So I guess I collect stickers? ????

    5) I respect the shit outta the ocean and am fascinated by every aspect of it.
