The Friday Fives

1. What is your favorite place?

Growing up as a kid, we used to hang out a lot in the forest north of town on Black Mountain and Freman reservoir. There is a little cut-out area up there a few miles west of the lake that is so pretty and peaceful with lots of wildflowers and Colorado columbines growing and isolated. One of my favorite places.

2. What is your favorite place in your home?

My super comfy, new, adjustable bed. I think I could go full-on Brian Wilson in that thing and just stay in bed for a year and be happy.

3. Would you most want to live in a city, a suburb or the country?

I was raised in a small town and had a lot of country/rural exposure. Except for traffic, I prefer city living.

4. What is special about the town you live in?

Denver, baby. Mountains, plains. Snow, sunshine. It has it all.

5. How much time do you spend in nature?

Not enough. In fact of the last few years nearly none. Shame on me.

  1. 1) Hard to choose. I do like Lake County (Leadville area). Seattle is pretty cool.

    2) Anywhere comfy and allows prone positioning.

    3) Country. I have spent many years in the thick of the city and prefer the non-thick aspects of Colorado.

    4) Variety, weather and proximity to the mountains.

    5) Usually get up in them thar mountains once or twice a month.

  2. 1. Hamburg. Unlike the Beatles, I am not too big for Hamburg. The city has really made an impression on me. It’s easily navigable, has a lot to do, and it’s quite peaceful for a city of it’s size.

    2. The balcony.

    3. City forever. I grew up in small towns. Small towns are full of nosy people and everyone knows everyone’s business. There is no privacy. It’s odd how living in a city affords far more privacy than the burbs or small towns.

    4. Weed! Beer! Sunshine! No affordable housing! Scooters! Millennials! While Denver has a lot to offer, I’ll freely confess that I used to enjoy living here in the past more than I do now.

    5. Not enough. But then I am an indoors pet.

  3. 1) There is this bench, it’s a wooden bench. This bench sits on the side of a path that is on the shores of the beautiful Torch Lake in Michigan. It is a path that leads from the main camp to the point. In the woods with all sorts of trees and nature at your back., a beautiful view of the lake. The sounds of the water lapping at the shore…. aaaaahhhhhh

    2) In front of the tv. A comfy chair or sofa.

    3) I think I’m reday to try a small town as long as it is big enough to support a decent movie theater.

    4) Umm beaches? Hot AF? Ummm lots of traffic? Ummm young beautiful people?

    5) Is the library nature?
