The Friday Fives

1. After your first language, what language would you most like to learn? (Say the first language too)
After English, there was French. I studied French in college and would like to be better at it. Maybe I’ll take it up as a mid-life endeavor.

2. Does your country have a second language? What is it?
Not officially, but I suppose you could say Spanish is the second language.

3. How many languages can you count to 5 in? To 10 in? List them.
To 5:
English
Spanish
French
German

To 10:
English
French
Spanish

4. What is the first overseas country you visited? And from where? (ie/ Timbuktu to Mars)
Germany, from Denver. Thanks, Uncle Sam.

5. What country do you most want to visit? And why?
One of the Scandinavias and Vietnam.

  1. 1. My English not so good. My French is even worse.

    2. Spanish obviously. (The next most spoken language in the US is Chinese.)

    3. Three.

    4. Denver to Austria. It was a work trip.

    5. Japan and China.

  2. 1) I speak American and would love to be able to speak Spanish. I encounter so many people in healthcare that don’t speak American and it seems the most common is Mexican/Spanish.

    2) Mexican/Spanish is the second most common but it certainly is not designated as a second language.

    3) 3 for both English, Spanish, French.

    4) Technically, Germany but it was just a lay-over in the Frankfurt airport so maybe that doesn’t count? I was on my way to Russia for a 5 week educational excursion, so I’m gonna say Russia.

    5) Australia and New Zealand.
